10 Best DC Comics Movies (So Far)

2. Man Of Steel

From the word go, Warner Bros. got it right on Man Of Steel.* Zack Snyder was exactly the right director to put in the director€™s chair, and he delivered the greatest version of Clark Kent / Kal-El / Superman cinema has ever seen*, as promised. Where Superman Returns had gone wrong seven years earlier, Man Of Steel went right. Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer€™s story has so much more going for it. With the fate of the world resting squarely upon his shoulders, Superman does the unthinkable and takes Zod€™s life, and it€™s Goyer and Nolan€™s willingness to have him do this in the first outing that made such an impression here. It lacked a post-credits scene that could have given it the edge here and maybe even tipped it into the #1 spot, but given that there were rumours of such a scene bringing the film into the same Cinematic Universe as Nolan€™s Batman trilogy, that€™s not entirely a bad thing. And with Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice just two years away, there€™s fortunately not too long to wait before the Universe expands exponentially. *A controversial statement, to be sure.
