10 Best Disappointing Movies Ever
2. Return To Oz
The Wizard's dark, misunderstood sibling got a bad rap from critics when it arrived in 1985 and is considered a source of embarrassment for Disney, but Return To Oz was nothing to be ashamed of.
Cheery optimism and catchy songs were replaced by nightmarish visuals and all-round weirdness in this eerie sequel of sorts, which simply wasn't what audiences were expecting.
But Return To Oz should be lauded for its faithful adaptation of the original L. Frank Baum novels, not to mention its creative creature design and resistance of Disneyfication.
It's a spectacle everyone should see. Well, maybe not young children because those Wheelers are sure to give them nightmares for weeks.
