While many of the children on this list have a scene or two involving food, none of them come close to the triumph of Bruce Bogtrotter (played by Jimmy Karz). Bruce is the second confection-crazy Dahl character on this list, but unlike Augustus Gloop, he manages to have a victorious arc in the story. Evil Miss Trunchbull accuses Bog of eating a slice of her personal dessert and as a punishment forces him to eat an entire massive chocolate cake by himself. The scene itself is nauseating. The cake looks quite rich and theres just so much of it - in fact, it actually looks bigger than Bruces entire torso! Luckily, Matilda is able to show off her defiant side when she stands up and gets the whole crowd chanting for Bruce, giving him the motivation to proudly clean his plate. The student bodys rebellion is short-lived (Trunchbull immediately smashes the cake plate over Bruces head), but the victorys significance remains intact.
