10 Best Female Vampires In Horror Movies
6. Claudia - Interview With A Vampire
If you ever start a conversation about the best vampire movies of all time, you're bound to hear someone bring up Interview with a Vampire. This classic gothic horror flick is an excellent example of how captivating and profound the subgenre can be, and a major piece of that puzzle is Kirsten Dunst's Claudia.
The character is a young child who gets turned into a vampire by Lestat (Tom Cruise) in an attempt to appease the melancholy of Louis (Brad Pitt), a recently converted vampire who lost his family.
This was far from Dunst's first performance, as she'd been working for roughly five years by the time this part landed in her lap. Still, it was a massively prolific role and really helped bring her into the spotlight, and she was only twelve at the time. Now that's impressive!
Claudia plays into a very specific (and creepy) aspect of vampirism that doesn't get explored very often, and that's infant vampires. Seeing as these demons never age, you can spend your whole life in vampire form if you're converted as a youngster, which becomes a big source of conflict for Claudia.
She's a compelling character who starts as an innocent kid, but eventually becomes a mature killer stuck in a child's body.
