10 Best Final Speeches In Movie History

7. I'm In Hell (Precious)

Precious won a number of awards after its 2009 release, including two Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actress for Mo'Nique in her part as title character Precious' mother Mary, a woman participates in as well as facilitates the years of sexual abuse that shape her daughter's life.

Precious is a story that touches on some very dark - yet very real - issues and can be difficult viewing for some.

Precious is pregnant with her second child at the age of 17, both of which have been fathered by her own father and lifelong abuser, a fact which is detailed in a number of flashbacks.

While Precious spends much of its runtime painting a picture of how much Precious has suffered at the hands of her parents and her background, it isn't until Mary's speech that the full picture is finally revealed.

The speech in question comes at the movie's climax, when Precious finally stands up to her abusive mother. Mary launches into a tirade that reveals the depth of her mental illness and depravity, and makes the audience feel both incredibly uncomfortable and incredibly upset.

It's compelling, it's distressing, and it's one hell of a performance.
