Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy changed a lot of perceptions on just what a superhero movie should look like.

The three movies were grounded, gritty and carried a certain amount of gravity, and nowhere were these qualities more evident than in 2008's The Dark Knight.

The Dark Knight is an unforgettable cinematic journey, and embarking upon it always feels a little bittersweet for a handful of reasons.

The first of these is naturally Heath Ledger's tragic death after his outstanding performance as the Joker, and the second is the plot's detailing of the rise and fall of Gotham's white knight, Harvey Dent (A.K.A. Two Face).

After falling in love with Dent, we watch him turn against his own principles, eventually dying in a confrontation with Batman in the penultimate scene of the movie.

What follows is a speech that is part eulogy and part conversation between Batman and Commissioner James Gordon, with shots of both Dent's public funeral and Batman's evasion of authorities at the scene of Dent's death.

It's beautifully written, emotionally delivered, and masterfully edited to be a fitting (if not satisfying) end to a truly incredible movie.
