The Lord of the Rings trilogy is the definitive fantasy epic, and the third and final movie of the trilogy boasts some of the biggest battle scenes with the highest stakes.

Naturally, there's a badass speech or two thrown in there.

After dealing the forces of Sauron a significant blow by way of ghost soliders, Aragorn realises that Frodo will need them to distract the Great Evil's attention to buy him enough time to destroy the Ring, so the rightful King of Gondor talks his closest friends and as many soldiers as possible into riding out with him to almost certain death at the Black Gate.

As his forces prepare for the last of Sauron's still fearful might to come crashing out of Mordor, Aragorn delivers a rousing speech to pump up the men he has enlisted to help him with his suicide mission.

It delivers on everything a good pre-battle speech needs: an acknowledgement of the courage of his men, of the fellowship that they are fighting to protect, and a reminder of where in Middle Earth they come from ("I bid you stand, Men of the West!").

It's beautiful, and even after all this time, if you can watch it without getting goosebumps, you might just be a robot.
