10 Best First Kills From Horror Movies

3. Kane - Alien

When it comes to one of the greatest demises in both the horror and sci-fi genres, it's gotta be Kane.

Played by the much-missed John Hurt, Kane is the executive officer of the Nostromo in Ridley Scott's masterful film Alien. He is the first to discover the Xenomorph eggs aboard an abandoned spaceship, as well as being the first to become a host for the alien menace.

Nice one, John! Look at what you did!

After getting attacked by a Facehugger, Kane is rendered unconscious and has to be rescued by his crewmates. Eventually though, everything calms down, and the gang sit down to enjoy a nice meal.

And then all hell breaks loose.

Kane starts convulsing, violently reacting to something inside his body. Then, when he's laid out on the table, something begins to push through his stomach. In an explosion of blood and body parts, a Chestburster erupts from Kane's abdomen, killing the poor bloke in a matter of seconds.

The scene really is the bees knees. Violent, surprising, technically impressive, and a beloved piece of cinema history? What more could you possibly want?
