3. The Losers Club - IT
What list of horror movie friendships would be complete without The Losers Club from Stephen King’s legendary story? Well, not this one, that’s for sure.
The Losers Club - as well as being a rather impressive name for a rock band - is an extremely fitting title for the culprits involved. The Losers Club in both the original 1990 made-for-TV movie and the uneven two part cinematic remake in the late 2010s are a collective of unique personalities. They're a group of diversely divergent children who initially only have one thing in common; their horrendously cumbersome home lives.
That is until the quaint little town of Derry becomes a breeding ground for strangely tragic, yet unexplainably bemusing occurrences. A turning point comes as the sardonically named club endeavours to melt whatever “IT” is with battery acid, (you slime!). As the kids band together to overcome this evil, they each display a lot more charisma and personality than the chief antagonist that brought them altogether.
Bill, Eddy, Ritchie, Beverley, Stan, Mike and Ben are a cavalcade of eccentricity. Throughout their journey(s), each one captures the innocence of days gone that the child in every one of us can truly relate to.
