10 Best Friendships In Horror Movies

2. Chucky And Andy - Child's Play

Let The Right One In Eli
Universal Pictures

Hi, I’m Chucky and I’m your friend till the end.

An end that seemingly will never come, apparently.

In 1988 a fairly low-budget movie titled Child’s Play would release and it would unexpectedly catapult far beyond anyone’s comprehension. It left absolutely nothing but astonishment in its wake as it immediately became an irrefutable classic. The biggest shock was just how quickly its principal antagonist became a household name, one that would transcend generations to come.

The enticement likely came from the obscene killer doll at the centre of events, but this doesn’t mean that the most dysfunctional friendship in horror movie history wasn’t the driving force at the forefront.

When 6-year-old Andy Barclay receives his much coveted “Good Guy” doll for his birthday, he doesn’t quite understand why those around him cannot believe that the inanimate object is informing him of some sinister plans. What’s more grating, however, is that 7 sequels and one reboot later, those plans are still yet to be realised. One thing that was realised though was that over the established timeline, Chucky and Andy have formed a connection reminiscent of Batman and the Joker - Mirroring the irony of the two seemingly unable to co-exist whilst simultaneously being unable to exist without one another.
