10 Best Guilty Pleasure Horror Movies You Probably Missed

7. Jennifer's Body

Thirteen Ghosts
Fox

2009's horror-comedy Jennifer's Body - penned by Diablo Cody fresh off her Oscar win for Juno - has had quite the journey finding its audience.

The film was initially marketed to horny teenage boys as a vapid horror flick in which Megan Fox plays a succubus who eats people while wearing very little. While that isn't an unfair descriptor of some of the movie, there's a lot more than that going on in Cody's script.

Especially in light of 2018's #MeToo movement, Jennifer's Body has been re-evaluated for its feminist qualities in portraying the common experiences of teenage girls, forced to contend with toxic masculinity while attempting to find their way in the world.

Slickly directed by Karyn Kusama and cannily acted by Fox in an impressively self-aware performance, it may not quite be the unsung masterpiece many now claim it to be, but it delivers a giddily entertaining collision of black humour, brutal gore, and sex appeal.
