10 Best Guilty Pleasure Movie Sequels
7. Alien Resurrection (1997)
This is the weirdest Alien movie of them all, employing an almost surreal tone and incorporating a host of odd characters. Despite its strangeness (or because of it) it still manages to be the most exciting and watchable Alien film after the first two.
Where Alien 3 seemed to tone down the action and violence from the previous instalments, Resurrection pumps it all the way back up to 10, and even has time to get philosophical on the morality of cloning. Thankfully it doesn’t get nearly as idea-heavy as Prometheus, and never loses focus on the fact that it is an Alien film first and foremost.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t aged very well and some of the acting and dialogue feels off, but it will always earn extra points for being the final time we got to see Sigourney Weaver's Ripley (albeit a cloned Ripley) in an Alien movie.
