10 Best Guilty Pleasure Movie Sequels

6. Batman Forever (1995)

Predator 2
Warner Bros.

Ignoring Tim Burton's darkness in favour of a more family friendly approach, Batman Forever manages to be a ridiculously enjoyable take on the caped crusader, even if at times it becomes a bit pantomime-esque.

Where Joel Schumacher’s follow up, Batman & Robin, took things a little too far, Forever handles the silliness with just enough restraint, never becoming a parody of itself quite like the latter film did.

Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones also have barrels of fun playing The Riddler and Two Face as two of the more memorable villains in the franchise’s history, and Val Kilmer is a decent Batman, even if he occasionally ventures into auto pilot.

This film is the perfect antidote to Nolan’s more grounded trilogy, if you ever just want some heightened comic book shenanigans instead of the overly serious dark knight angst.
