3. Predator 2 (1990)

Lacking the tension and slasher horror feel of the original, Predator 2 instead relies on action, brutality and over the top set pieces to keep the audience engaged. It’s never dull, and takes itself slightly less seriously than the Arnold Schwarzenegger '80s classic, but remains just as entertaining, even if not as memorable.
By repositioning to a new jungle, this time the concrete jungle of LA, the film switches themes and reflects the City of Angels in turmoil as cops and gangs wage war, hinting that those in this city are causing more violence and destruction than the predator ever could.
It is also notable for kick starting the Alien vs. Predator mythology, when in the final scenes we see the skeleton of a Xenomorph on board the predator ship. Whether or not that’s a good thing is debatable, as we later got the below par AVP films.
