10 Best Harry Potter Characters Who Only Appeared In One Movie
1. Cedric Diggory
Sometimes, people don't need to stick around too long to be important. In fact, losing characters early on can retrospectively give them a far more prominent place than they'd have received as a regular. This was easily the case with Cedric Diggory, as his demise at the climax of Goblet of Fire was a turning point for the series.
This Hufflepuff alumnus - played by the ever-impressive Robert Pattinson - was a major player in the fourth movie, as he performed alongside Harry as Hogwarts' representative in the Triwizard Tournament. Throughout the film, he helped the eponymous hero and they became good friends, ultimately sharing victory at the end of the last challenge.
Of course, that victory would be short-lived, as the pair would end up transported to the Little Hangleton graveyard, and Cedric would be killed after the horrifying line "kill the spare".
Seeing this charismatic and charming character knocked off with the Killing Spell showed that Hogwarts students were not safe. Gone were the quirky days of implied danger, and in its stead arrived the harsh reality that characters you know and love could bite the bullet.
Cedric truly ushered in a new era for the series, and he did so by only starring in one movie.
