10 Best Harry Potter Characters Who Only Appeared In One Movie

Learning how to fly is a major part of being a wizard, and the game of Quidditch is an utterly essential piece of Harry Potter world-building. Thanks to that - and the fact that she is involved in more of the books - it's shocking to know that Hogwarts flying instructor and Quidditch referee, Rolanda Hooch, is only in the first movie.

She came along and made an immediate impact, introducing the world of broomsticks to the young Hogwarts students and even playing a part in Harry's taking up of the sport. Plus, Zoe Wanamaker clearly had a lot of fun in the role and was precisely the kind of actor you would expect to see in the HP series.

Seeing as other teachers from previous films such as Professor Sprout made their way into the final movie to take part in the Battle of Hogwarts, it seems strange that this charming member of the staff wouldn't also appear.

The truth behind the matter is that Wanamaker was written out of the second film after complaining about pay disputes. Still, by the time the eighth instalment came out, you would have expected things to have changed.
