Bleecker Street

Hotel Mumbai is an action thriller inspired by the 2009 documentary film Surviving Mumbai. It was made as an Australian-American-Indian project and was first shown at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2018. The movie received its initial release in Australia in mid-March 2019 and was followed almost two weeks later in the United States.

The film is based on the true story of the Taj Hotel terrorist attack that took place in Mumbai back in 2008. The amazing story revolves around the hotel staff, who bravely risked their own lives to ensure everyone's safety in the hotel.

Hotel Mumbai was directed by Anthony Maras, who also co-wrote the screenplay with John Collee. It stars Dev Patel, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Anupam Kher, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Jason Isaacs, Suhail Nayyar, Nagesh Bhosle, and Natasha Liu Bordizzo. The film received significant praise from critics when it was released, but it wasn't watched by many people, as it only made $20.2 million off of a $17.3 million budget.

Despite its poor showing at the box office, the film has been praised by numerous critics, and currently holds a 76% on Rotten Tomatoes. It has been nominated for 26 awards so far, and it won three, including Best Editing and Best Actor at the AACTA Awards.
