4. Let Me In (2010)
Based On: Let the Right One In (2008) Another remake that came out very soon after the original, Let Me In is still a unique experience and a worthwhile entry into the horror genre. Directed by Cloverfield helmer Matt Reeves and starring Kodi Smit-McPhee, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Richard Jenkins, Let Me In is a vampire story wherein the scary vampire is actually a sympathetic young girl. While most horror movies shy away from things like friendship and relationships because they are focused on the more primal death and sex, Let Me In is really a story about being a good friend. Sometimes that means you have to kill random people and take their blood, but that's what friends are for. Joking aside, Let Me In isn't as extreme as Let the Right One In but it packs a dramatic punch nonetheless and it can be legitimately scary at times.
