Directed by the legendary Brian DePalma, Carrie is about more than just murder, blood and gore as it focuses on the effects that bullying, social conformity, isolation, and being born to a bat s**t, ultra religious nut will have on your psyche. Throw in telekinetic powers and a band of insecure, abusive teens and you've got Carriehorror's breakout star. Many viewers of this film pity and even sympathize with Carrie, putting the murderess in the position of being both heroine and villain. Even in death, poor Carrie can't get any peace as her grave is defiled; however, she does manage to haunt the mind of one of the film's only survivors by literally reaching out to the girl in her dreams.
