Functioning as the fifth entry into the franchise, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones follows its previous examples, playing out as a supernatural horror story documented by a unfortunate soul that manages to get possessed. You know it must be a real problem when there's been six consecutive films about it, jeez.

The Marked Ones is different from its filmic brothers and sisters as it tells a completely new story, one that doesn't entangle itself too heavily with the Katie storyline that dominates the earlier movies.

Set in a Latin-American neighbourhood and generally offering something a little more interesting than Paranormal Activities usual 'things-go-bump-in-the-night' premise, it's one of the most well put-together films in the franchise, and distills all the best qualities between the six.
