10 Best Horror Movie Villain Designs

9. Brundlefly - The Fly

Pinhead Hellraiser
20th Century Fox

If body horror is the name of the game, then experience David Cronenburg’s The Fly. Think of the worst thing you can become and then look at the Brundlefly. Seriously, look at that thing. What is it and how do we free it from its misery? It is the most disgusting creature we have ever seen.

That creature used to be Jeff Goldblum’s Seth Brundle until his invention spliced his DNA with a fly. Throughout the movie, Seth slowly transforms into this final form. It is oozing with slime. Its skin is deformed but vaguely human. Look closely and it has hair sticking out all over its body. It is one of a kind, yet the silhouette is definitely a fly, with bitty eyes and mandibles. It probably smells like literal heaps of garbage, too.

The mad genius is that The Fly is all about Seth and his girlfriend, Veronica. So the creature is not just specifically designed by the art department for us to imagine the horror of transforming into it, they also designed it for us to imagine touching it, trading fluids with it, having sex with it, and having its children. Sometimes filmmakers are the real monsters.
