The triumph of greed over sense is the close-to-home premise of 13 Sins. Viewers who loved the original Saw will find the same charm in this low budget, twisty and twisted horror movie. Released in April 2014, this is a remake of a 2006 Thai horror movie, but it doesn't suffer from the all-too-common remake sickness. That might be thanks to the solid performance from leading man Mark Webber, who plays a down-on-his-luck salesman receiving a sting of ever more uncomfortable phone calls posing bizarre and dark challenges with the promise of tantalising financial rewards. Critical response to 13 Sins has been mixed, but favorable reviews agree that it's a solid psychological thriller with enough twists to keep you engaged and satisfying creeped out.
