10 Best Horror Movies Of 2019

9. Crawl

Little Monsters
Paramount Pictures

Crawl is one of those films that feels like it's fallen off the radar after its release, and is big dumb fun at its finest. In escalating levels of holy sh*t, the story is one that sees a category five hurricane hit Florida and flood a local town, leaving one man trapped in his basement and his daughter out searching for him. When Haley finds him unconscious and bleeding, she soon finds the basement is now home to a pack of savage alligators, with both her and her father now stuck with a rising water level in an evacuated town.

It's absolutely brimming with stupid decisions and spectacle set pieces, but that's what makes this title work. It knows exactly what it is as monster movie mayhem, and isn't afraid to be as gloriously silly as possible in attaining that blockbuster b-movie goodness.

Crawl is thrilling, suspenseful, and high-stakes whilst retaining its sense of fun. There's not much more you could want from this type of movie, and Crawl revels in that knowledge as it gets more and more outlandish.
