10 Best Horror Movies Of The Decade
7. The Wailing (2016)
Another Korean horror movie that absolutely knocks it out of the park, The Wailing has stirred up all sorts of hype since its release in 2016.
Telling the tale of a police man faced with a mysterious illness taking over his tiny village, those who become infected violently murder any and all around them - with the only connection to the outbreak coming in the form of a Japanese stranger. This is all horrible enough up until the police officer's own daughter starts to show signs of the infection, making it a race against time for him to figure out the truth before he loses all that is dear to him.
The Wailing isn't anywhere near as clear cut a story as its blurb might make out, but that's part of its strange charm. Combining some grim effects with a supernaturally inclined story and a whole load of stress, this film is one of the best of its kind when it comes to walking the line of terrifying set pieces and bewitching storytelling. Just what it all means at the end is entirely up to you.
