5. Oculus (2013)
Karen Gillan has certainly been keeping herself busy since Amy Pond got zapped back in time by the Weeping Angels in Series 7. US sitcoms and Marvel mercenaries aside, one of her most high profile post-Who roles to date was in the 2013 psychological thriller Oculus in which she starred as Kaylie Russell, a troubled young woman who believed that her childhood home was the subject of an otherworldly phenomenon. Determined to uncover the truth once and for all, she proceeds to transform the scene of their parents' unexplained deaths into a study of supernatural surveillance and... well, you can probably guess what happens next, can't you? Needless to say, you'll never look at an apple quite in the same way again.
