10 Best "I Want" Songs In Animated Films

6. Hercules - "Go The Distance"

It's hard to relate to anyone who's actually the long-lost son of Zeus but luckily, “Go The Distance” manages to help out in this regard.

Inspirational lyrics and impressive visuals allows "Go The Distance" to highlight Hercules' yearning to be accepted by his peers and his determination to rise above his status as an outcast due to his god-like strength. It also gives viewers a reason to sympathise with him and to join him on his journey towards finding a sense of belonging when he finds out how he came to be raised by his adoptive parents.

Tony Award-winning Roger Bart gives this song a real Broadway-esque flavour, matched by both Hercules' sorrow and expectations, and the reprise is just as sensational. The instrumental riffs, dominated by strings and horns, are uplifting and pleasing. For anyone who's felt like an outsider or uninspired, this song is able to make Hercules' story relatable.
