10 Best Live-Action Anime Movies

This show really shouldn't work, but it does, thanks to the enigmatic characters, irreverent energy and amusing visuals. Still, no one could have expected it would even make it to live-action, let alone be good.

Assassination Classroom follows the exploits of the students of E class in Kunugigaoka High School. These kids are far from having an everyday school life, as their teacher happens to be an alien who has destroyed 70% of the moon and intends to obliterate the Earth. It's their job to kill him before that happens, but it soon becomes clear that this villain isn't quite as devilish as he may seem.

Part of what makes this series fun is that there's a real heart to it despite the comedy. The dynamic between this extra-terrestrial and his classroom grows nicely and gives each character a chance to shine. This is something that the movie excels in, alongside the smart and pulse-pounding action scenes.

Additionally, the most significant thing the film needed to do well was creating Korosensei - the alien teacher. Thankfully, this movie knocks it out of the park, as not only does he look accurate to the anime and work well in their world, but his energy and personality are perfectly adapted.
