10 Best Live Action Movie Batsuits
3. Michael Keaton - Batman
It's clunky, restrictive and the symbol is...wrong, but Michael Keaton's first batsuit was the perfect start for the more serious interpretation of Batman on the big screen. In fact, with the exception of the grey-blue colour palette being swapped for all-black, the suit looks pretty darn close to that on the pages of the comic books. The cape enshrouded The Batman, making him look more vampiric, and the cowl cast a shadow over his eyes which just added to the intimidation factor in batboat loads.
No one could really tell that the thing weighed the same as an average child, and that the wearer was barely 5'10".
The idea of a man running around in a tight-fitting cloth suit was quickly abandoned in favour of the hardened armour look. As the head and neck were one piece of foam latex, Keaton developed sharp movements to compensate and deliberately dieted so that the rest of the form fitting suit remained wearable. Any doubt over Keaton's casting was quickly washed away upon the image of him in the suit, and it's fair to say that his suits went on to influence all others that followed, including today's.
