10 Best Marvel Movie Cameos Of All Time

9. J. Michael Straczynski (Thor)

Joe Michael Straczynski is an American writer and producer who created the hit TV show Babylon 5 back in the mid 1990's. After the show found success, the door opened for Straczynski to tackle a number of different projects across a range of media, including film, books and comics. While Straczynski actually started writing comics in the late 1980's, his profile within the industry rose after he created the critically acclaimed series Rising Stars for Top Cow/Image Comics. Since then, Straczynski has created his own imprint called Joe's Comics and later signed an exclusive contract with Marvel, where he wrote popular runs for some of the company's most iconic characters, including Spider-Man and Thor. Straczynski can now add acting to his impressive resume after filming a brief cameo appearance in Marvel's first movie adaptation of Thor. Originally, Straczynski was just going to do a basic walk-on role like the majority of comic book writers and artists, but director Kenneth Brannagh was so impressed with Straczynski that he decided to expand his role. After the Thunder God loses Mjolnir on Earth, Straczynski is one of the first men to discover the hammer in the desert, but fails to lift it off the ground. The trucker returns with some of his friends, but none of them are able to take Thor's weapon as none of them are worthy enough. The scene echoes a moment Straczynski wrote at the beginning of his own run on the Thor comic and while discussing the cameo at a panel, the writer declared €œI€™ve vanished into my own narrative!€
