10 Best MCU Endings
1. Avengers: Endgame
Once Thanos snapped half of all living creatures out of existence, you knew there was going to be hell to pay in the next Avengers movie. Going back in time, the remaining Avengers’ quest to gather the Infinity Stones gives us all the fan-service we could have hoped for. We may have had some satisfying emotional payoff, but the real gut-punches were saved until the very end.
Though the ending of Endgame has been criticized for overstaying its welcome, it actually takes its time when wrapping up every individual character. With everyone gathering to pay tribute to Tony Stark’s sacrifice, we pan over to see every single hero that has been built up over the duration of the MCU. As Thor joins the Guardians after handing Asgard over to Valkyrie, Cap volunteers to return the Infinity Stones to their respective timelines.
After coming back to the present, we see Cap emerge as an old man, deciding to live a complete life back at his home in Brooklyn. As he hands the reins over to Falcon, we transition to see Peggy and Steve finally having their dance, something that fans had wanted to see for ages. We may have lost a lot of friends along the way, but Avengers: Endgame is the one MCU movie that ties up every loose end we could have hoped for.
