10 Best MCU Endings
2. Avengers: Infinity War
Any good movie can rely on a twist from time to time. Whether it’s comedy, thriller, or drama, switching the tone on a dime is something that only true film professionals can pull off effectively. We had gotten used to a few left turns in the MCU, but no one was expecting the rug to be pulled out from under us quite like this.
After three different phases going through the MCU, Infinity War felt like the culmination of everything that had come before, with all of our heroes coming together to take on Thanos. No one really thought this movie would be any different from the other ones, with each of our heroes coming together to bring down the Mad Titan once and for all. However, everything changed with one snap.
Everyone thought Thor had saved the day by impaling Thanos with Stormbreaker, but Thanos snaps half of the universe out of existence anyway, with half of the Avengers team turning to dust before our eyes.
After having our hearts ripped out seeing lovable characters like Groot, Black Panther, and Spider-Man evaporate, we cut to Thanos on his farm, content with the genocide he has just committed. The title might have had Avengers on the tin, but that final shot affirmed that this was Thanos’ movie through and through. It may have been a morbid final act, but it’s one that packs the same punch every time you watch it.
