3. Avengers
Every Marvel fan knew where they were the first time they saw the Avengers on the big screen. While this was far from being the first superhero team up movie, this was what sold everyone on the idea of the MCU, with every single actor working off each other brilliantly. The group may have lost some allies along the way, but the final moments marked greater heights just around the corner.
After defeating the Chitauri Invasion in New York, all of the Avengers apprehend Loki, where they retrieve the Tesseract and Thor returns his brother to Asgard.
As every one of them goes their separate ways, we are left with Nick Fury talking about the future plans of Earth’s mightiest heroes. Seeing that his friends have earned a break, we pan through news footage to see all of the civilians who are grateful for the Avengers stepping in, including Stan Lee’s infamous cameo where he scoffs at the idea of superheroes coming to New York.
As Cap gets on his motorcycle and Tony Stark speeds off in his car, there is a certain tension in the air. Though the movie is clearly over, every fan knew that this little invasion was just the tipping point of something even greater, which was confirmed when Thanos rears his ugly mug in the first end credits scene. Rather than build to a heartfelt moment or leave the audience hanging, this ending is just epic... as all good comic book movies should be.
