10 Best MCU Movie Endings (So Far)

6. Thor: Ragnarok

Avengers Endgame Ending
Marvel Studios

After a solid, if unspectacular start to the franchise, and a sequel that is still labeled by many as the worst movie in the entire MCU, Thor needed some rejuvenation. In 2017, thanks to Taika Waititi, he received it and then some. Ragnarok is without question the best Thor movie to date, and one of the strongest in the entire cinematic universe.

The character finally rose to be King of Asgard, Korg, Loki, Hulk, and Valkyrie acted as a ridiculously strong supporting cast, and Hela pushed the God of Thunder to truly embrace his title. We've always known Thor was a badass, but it had never been shown quite as well as at the end of Ragnarok.

There have been few shots as cool, and downright epic, as Thor flying through the sky, lightning coursing through and around his body, to The Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin. This would have been enough to make Ragnarok's ending standout on its own, but it got even better.

Thought to be another secondary villain not to be seen past the first act, Surtur made a glorious return at the end of the movie to destroy both Hela and Asgard itself, in a wonderful display of fiery aggression.
