10 Best MCU Villains (Who Aren't In The Movies)

3. Leopold (Agents Of SHIELD)

The Purple Man Jessica Jones Kilgrave
Marvel Studio / ABC

We are all our own worst enemies. Some of us might self-sabotage, some of us might be unable to resist our cravings even when we know they are bad for us, and some of us turn out to be fascistic evil geniuses who take pleasure in torturing and killing our friends.

The framework version of long standing SHIELD member Leopoldo Fitz is the single greatest villain the show has ever produced. Fully utilising the acting force that is Iain De Caestecker, Leopold is portrayed as entirely separate from the Fitz fans grew to love. Cold, emotionless, and full on mad scientist, Leopold took great pleasure in destroying everything his real world double loved, which mainly put Simmons in his crosshairs.

As much of an utter bastard as Leopold was portrayed, he was also made sympathetic, showing us that the main difference between Leopold and our Fitz was the influence of an abusive father, and lack of Simmons to help with his megalomaniacal tendencies.

The character made a few reappearances even after the framework was destroyed, influencing the real Fitz to conduct unwanted surgery on his team-mates, and even reappearing in a mind-scape, where he tries to wipe Simmons’ mind before... having sex with a grudge ghost version of Simmons?

Even the evil versions of Fitzsimmons end up together, which is pretty wholesome in the worst possible way.
