10 Best Michael Keaton Performances

6. Ray Kroc

Michael Keaton
TWC

Ray Kroc was either a tremendously clever business man, or a monster, depending on which way you look at it. He was the one who encouraged Maurice and Richard McDonald to franchise their idea of a fast food restaurant, which should have been them become millionaires.

Keaton is on fine villainous form as the friend who turns foe in this biopic of Kroc, the one time partner who manages to not only seize the name 'McDonald's' from the two brothers, but also ensure that they didn't receive royalties from his continued expansion of their original empire.

The Founder is a film that mostly works. It is very much held together by Keaton's performance, though the rest of the cast is strong as well - including John Carroll Oats and Nick Offerman as the McDonald brothers. If there is one aspect that lets the film down, it is that Kroc's personal life is a somewhat tacked on element to the film.

The film is not only an excellent portrayal of the power of greed, yet it also serves as a timely reminder of the cost of doing business in a dog eat dog world.
