10 Best Mid-Credit Movie Scenes

7. Game Night

Game Night was a surprisingly funny hit, with a tight and consistent comedic script weaved around likeable leads and a twisty-turny conspiracy plot.

As the credits roll we enter weird 'Matt Damon-alike' cop Gary's basement, which is where we encounter a litany of evidence all revolving around his masterplan: getting back into Max and Annie's game night.

Yes, while he's given our competitive heroes the creeps throughout the film, Gary's detailed schematics reveal he was the culprit behind the multi-layered conspiracy all along. And all because he was a little too strange to get a second invite to become a regular staple in the couple's gaming party.

In the detailed plan during the credits, we see Gary's been a busy boy, rehearsing his hero antics to 'save' our stricken group. He also has videotapes of famous movie death scenes to help him garner sympathy when he fakes getting shot. There's even a roster of criminal personnel files, no doubt lifted from his police background, to give him access to the muscle needed to intimidate Max, Annie and the gang.

It's a neat little scene that ties in perfectly with the film's nod to board games - just look at the detailed models of our heroes.

A sucker for the MCU, Aaron Sorkin's writing, thrillers and action RPGs. Low key in love with Steve Rogers.
