6. Wall-E
While many came to see Wall-E for its portrayal of the cutest sentient trash droid ever, we also got a stark warning in the dangers of consumer greed and big capitalism.
As the inhabitants of the spaceship Axiom return to Earth after hundreds of years of exile, we can't help but feel a twinge of uncertainty by the end of the movie. How will humans cope with being on a mostly barren planet? It does sow the seed of doubt for the human race when the captain claims he can grow literal pizza from the ground...
Thankfully, the credits paint a rosier future for homo sapiens. Told via artistic montages, the film reveals that thanks to the on-board tech and robots on the Axiom, human beings were make it after all. We see them drilling for water, cultivating crops and fishing, confirming that life has indeed returned to the planet once considered barren and unable to support life.
Over time, we see mankind has mastered architecture, with tall buildings once again showing that humans thrive again, while hopefully learning the mistakes of their ancestors.
Not only that, Wall-E's artful end credits evolve over time, beginning with cave drawings, morphing into Egyptian-style hieroglyphics, mosaics, realist and post-impressionist efforts.
It's this attention to detail and storytelling by paintbrush that reaffirms that this movie was crafted with love and care, and that the human race, despite its many mistakes, deserves a second chance on this blue planet we call home.
