5. Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2, our 'merc with a mouth' has saved the day once again, ensuring that Russell aka Firefist doesn't grow up to be a homicidal maniac who plunges the future into a fiery hell-scape. As such, time-hopping warrior Cable from the future knows his family is now safe, and decides to stay in our current time, for some reason...

However, there's still the matter of Wade's paramour Vanessa still being dead, gunned down needlessly in a hit on Deadpool gone wrong. Fortunately, a happy ending is still on the cards for these two, as during the end credits, Wade has Negasonic and Yukio fix Cable's time-travelling device. Handy.

And before you can say 1.21 gigawatts, Wade is off to fix his timeline, first by saving Vanessa with a cheese knife to the forehead of her hapless assailant. Next, he saves Peter, who met a grisly end at the start of the X-Force mission - however, it's not clear if he bothered to rescue the rest of the poor team.

Next up, enhancing the movie Wolverine: Origins by capping the would-be Deadpool, and then saving the world from the atrocious Green Lantern movie... by offing Ryan Reynolds himself. And all this to the belting sounds of vocal powerhouse Cher's 'If I Could Turn Back Time'.

It's all very meta, but it's 100% Deadpool, and we love him for it.
