7. The Octopus - The Goonies

With Richard Donner as the director, and Chris Columbus and Steven Spielberg as the writers, The Goonies was destined to be a classic. After three decades, this family flick still proves to be among the most entertaining and quotable films of the 1980s.

However, there is one line that confused pretty much everyone. When the kids tell the reporters and cops about their adventure, Data mentions how they fought "a giant octopus". Because a battle with a colossal cephalopod sounds like something one would remember, viewers assumed Data was simply embellishing his exploits.

Little did viewers know there was a sequence shot where the children face off against a killer octopus. After the sea monster attacks The Goonies, Data shoves his cassette player into its beak, causing the creature to breakdance to the song, Eight Arms to Hold You. (Yes, that's genuinely what happens.)

Because the monstrous mollusc doesn't look at all convincing, it was a smart move to cut the scene. However, any die-hard fan of The Goonies should watch this sequence to understand what the hell Data was talking about in the climax.
