10 Best Movie Insults Of All Time

7. Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqbeCjqX2ww Our first of two Shane Black movies in quick succession, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a brilliantly self-aware comedy that crackles with the writer-director's trademark wit throughout, especially in this superb exchange. To give the scene context, Harry Lockhart (Robert Downey, Jr.), an idiotic criminal and lousy PI, has thrown Gay Perry's (Val Kilmer) gun into a lake, which sort of sucks given that it's evidence. It goes down like this: Perry: "Look up idiot in the dictionary. You know what you'll find?" Lockhart: "A picture of me?" Perry: "No! The definition of the word 'idiot', which you f***ing are!" Another case of a one-liner that defies expectation, it's Kilmer's delivery combined with the cleverness of the line that makes it work. It's a great one to try out on friends who might not take it too personally.
