2. Quicksilver Breaches The Pentagon - X-Men: Days Of Future Past
There was so much negative pre-release press surrounding Peter Maximoff aka Quicksilver (Evan Peters) in X-Men: Days of Future Past that many had already written him off before the movie started. What a surprise it was, then, when he turned out to pretty much steal every scene he was in, and his most pivotal scene inside the Pentagon was surely the best set-piece in the whole movie. After being recruited by Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and co. to help break Magneto (Michael Fassbender) out of the high-security structure, the Quicksilver show begins: he steals a guard's uniform and uses his powers to shatter the glass ceiling of Magneto's cell, but as they break out, they're all caught by six guards, who have their guns pointed and ready to shoot. As the guns fire, Quicksilver uses his super-speed to run around the room, casually maneuvering the bullets out of the way of his mutant cohorts, also moving each guard's hands so that they end up knocking each other out, and even giving one of them a wedgie for good measure. It's the most hilarious and entertaining scene in a movie that's absolutely full of them: hopefully we'll see more of him in X-Men: Apocalypse, and it'll be interesting to see how the character fares in Avengers: Age of Ultron (albeit played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in that instance).
