8. The Muppet Movie
In Jim Henson's great Muppet Movie, Kermit accrues a number of friends who are similarly half-marionette and half-puppet. The crew, who include the stand-up comedian Fozzie, the chicken-lover Gonzo, and the beauty pageant winner Miss Piggy, are tagging along with the frog to go to Hollywood in order to make it big in the pictures. Along the way, the gang have struggles varying from auto trouble to being hunted by the entrepreneur of a French Fried Frog Leg restaurant. Stranded in the desert, Kermit wanders away from the group in the middle of the night, regretful and ashamed that he'd been the one to lead them on their journey which has seemingly no end. When alone, he finds another version of Kermit; one who is more optimistic, reminding our hero that it wasn't just his friends who had the dream of going to California, but it was him as well. When he returns to the group, he finds the Electric Mayhem band who give their assistance in helping our gang make it to their meeting with Orson Welles.
