10 Best Movie Title Drops Ever

5. Soylent Green

Jurassic Park Richard Attenborough
MGM

The Line: "Soylent Green...is people!"

Unlike the previous entry, this title drop is given at the very end of the film, rather than near the beginning, almost 30 minutes after the twist has been revealed. This is just our hero - played by the excellent Charlton Heston - relaying information to the police, despite all evidence pointing to the fact that nothing will be or can be done about this horrific truth.

While it's not impossible for a title drop to be put this high purely on the merit of the actor delivering it (though it would still be high on that metric, Heston being one of the greats and all), it takes this spot because of how it also ties back into the arc of Heston's character, detective Thorn.

He spends the majority of the film not caring about what the world has lost, but due to other events in the film, learns to care about the horrific state of society. And this revelation, even for as cynical a man as he is, cannot help but shake him to his core. This line is more than a hauntingly delivered performance, it's Robert Thorn's morals finally breaking through.

But as the film is quick to establish: it's too little, too late.
