6. Enchanted
Walt Disney StudiosEnchanted is the 2007 Disney film that takes shares screen time between animation and live-action. The story follows Giselle, a peasant girl who is set to marry Prince Edward of the animated realm of Andalasia. Realizing that her claim to the throne will disappear, Edward's stepmother casts Giselle into the very real world of New York City through a portal in the sewers under Times Square. In New York City, Giselle stays with Robert, a divorce attorney who doesn't believe in love, after he saves her from a fall off of a billboard. Naturally, the pair hit it off quite well. Enchanted isn't your cookie-cutter princess film, much to its credit. In fact, it often pokes fun at the tropes of the "Disney genre", and ultimately makes this film shine. It also has an all-star cast that includes Amy Adams, Idina Menzel, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and even Julie Andrews. The film received critical acclaim and made a pretty-penny at the box-office, roping in over 350 million dollars. This is definitely one to check out.
