5. Zero Effect
Its a shame that this little-seen gem has gone more or less unnoticed by audiences, because its a fun and fascinating ride start to finish. Bill Pullman plays master detective Daryl Zero and Ben Stiller is his assistant. When Ryan ONeal hires Zero to find a set of missing keys, were plunged into a movie with so many plot twists and reversals that it would be remiss of me to elaborate any further. This modern day Holmes and Watson is not just a great detective flick, but a terrific cinematic experience. Written and directed by Jake (son of Lawrence) Kasdan, this is one of those movies that keep you guessing until the very end. If youve missed it, find it. Its worth it.
