10 Best Movies Set On Halloween Night

4. Night Of The Demons

Night Of The Demons has to be the ultimate Halloween party movie and yes, it's so bad it's brilliant. The kind of horror movie found at the very bottom of the VHS Bargain Bin in Woolworths in the late 80s, Night Of The Demons is perfect background screaming for spooky get-togethers and well worth watching for pure amusements sake.

What loosely resembles the plot follows the classic tale of ten teenagers (demon fodder) who descend on an abandoned funeral parlour on Halloween night for some good old fashioned partying, 80s style. The trouble is, 'Hull House' has not only been built on evil ground but is also now the site of a murder-suicide after the owner's son decided to go on a killing spree. With this in mind, the kids decide to hold a seance and of course, it all goes horribly wrong.

It's pure Evil Dead, cabin in the woods (genre, not movie) territory with a demon possessing the teens one by one, who are murdered in ever increasingly imaginative ways.

Populated with some frankly bizarre moments, including the insertion of a lipstick into a possessed teen's nipple (yep, it's weird) to the brilliant closing sequence involving an apple pie filled with razor blades bursting from a man's neck (from the inside), followed by the appropriate closing line of "Happy Halloween, dear... " This film is a guilty pleasure and so Halloween it's untrue.
