10 Best Movies Where Everyone Dies

3. Dawn Of The Dead (2004)

In a zombie-addled, post-apocalyptic wasteland, it's pretty easy to make it onto this list as most of the killing is already done for you. With one small group of survivors left hashing it out in an abandoned shopping mall, the 1978 Dawn of the Dead has one of the most iconic zombie settings of all time, and its 2004 remake is no different.

Bringing George A. Romero's classic up to date, Zack Synder's version is a lot more fun, with everything from supply-running dogs to zombie babies. With the survivors getting knocked off one by one throughout the film, a glimmer of hope shines through in an island on Lake Michigan, the destination they set as a personal safe-zone. The group find no such luck however, with camcorder footage interspersed throughout the credits showing the island to be overwhelmed by a zombie horde - presumably killing the team as soon as they arrive.

Whilst we don't technically see everyone die, it's heavily implied that this is the case; the irony of fighting against the disease for so long coming full circle in discovering there really is no escape. It's pretty bleak when you say it like that, but with Down With The Sickness blasting out over the inevitable deaths of our protagonists - it's as fun an ending as any where the entirety of humanity is wiped out in front of you.
