http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWmfIacPS94 As mentioned earlier, Patrick Doyle's score for Thor's first outing is an elegant piece of work. In the scope of the first phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, its the best, most cohesive listening experience. His primary theme for the film is engagingly grand and epic. It's unfortunate that Doyle never had the chance to build upon and expand on his ideas here in The Dark World and that it's highly unlikely his theme will resurface in any future films. For what it is, though, it's one of Marvel's finest, least-manufactured sounding themes -- and scores as a whole, for that matter -- which elevates the film and acts as a perfect musical introduction to Thor and his fantastical universe.
