10 Best Non-Christmas Christmas Movies

1. Die Hard (1988)

It’s not Christmas until you see Hans Gruber fall from Nakatomi Plaza

That meme pretty much says it all when it comes to classifying Die Hard as a Christmas movie. On the surface, it's a flick about a cop who gets stuck inside a building being taken over by terrorists. He makes his way through them in the only way a 80s movie hero possibly could, but all the while, people outside of Nakatomi Plaza are celebrating the holiday season.

The holidays were exactly why Detective John McLain found himself in the situation he was in. He traveled across the country to attend a Christmas party at his estranged wife's office. If it weren't for the Christmas party, there wouldn't have been a Die Hard.

The Internet has long debated the X-Massy nature of this film, but despite the majority of people demanding it is truly a Christmas movie, Bruce Willis came out and said it wasn't a Christmas flick, which angered fans who decried he was dead to them.

The issue was finally "solved" by the good folks at Nerdist who put together a critical analysis on the issue titled, "Does Die Hard Really Qualify As A Christmas Movie?" The answer: Yes.
