10 Best One-Hit-Wonder Actors

5. Alex Winter

Bill And Ted
Orion Pictures

Alex Winter is best known for playing Bill S. Preston, Esquire from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and its sequel, but that's about it. He had some success in another cult classic, playing Marko Davies in The Lost Boys, but he's mostly known for Bill & Ted.

It's not as if the guy has been taking a break from acting either; Alex Winter has starred in 20 films, nine television series, three music videos, and he's acted in two Broadway productions. He's not afraid to get in front of the camera, but his career has been mostly spent in the directing chair, not as an actor.

As a director, Winter has helmed 20 films, most of them documentaries, and he's also directed more music videos and television shows than he's acted in, which makes him more of a director than an actor anyway.

Winter's role as Bill is certainly not going anywhere now that the franchise has finally kicked off the dust to return Winter to his favorite phone booth. 2020 will see the release of Bill & Ted Face the Music, which means there's little hope his name will ever be attached to another significant part anytime soon.
